Bhagavad Gita Studies

Starts January 5/6
Tuesdays from 7am-9am Bali Time (Mondays from 6pm-8pm EST)

Before joining this program, I had practiced yoga for years, but I never fully understood the deeper layers of the tradition. Alexandra has a gift for making ancient philosophy feel intimate, relevant, and alive. Every week, she weaves the sutras into real-life stories, recovery wisdom, meditation practices, and the challenges we face in modern life. It feels less like a lecture and more like being guided through a journey of self-discovery. What surprised me most is how practical the teachings became. Concepts like vairāgya, abhyāsa, the vṛttis, and the kleshas started showing up in my relationships, my habits, my healing, and even the way I speak to myself. I now understand yoga not just as movement, but as a path of mental clarity, resilience, and liberation. Alexandra holds such a safe, compassionate, and inspiring space. Her ability to link philosophy with sobriety, trauma recovery, and real human vulnerability is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in a yoga course. I felt seen, understood, and deeply supported. If you’re looking for a study experience that is intellectual, emotional, and spiritual all at once — this is it. I’ve never felt more connected to my practice, or to myself. This course didn’t just teach me the Yoga Sutras; it helped me live them. I would recommend it to anyone on a path of healing, growth, or wanting to deepen their yoga journey.

I have only known Alexandra a short while, but in that time I have taken a couple online courses from her. Learning yoga philosophy and implementing meditation from Alexandra has been life changing for me. I can’t wait until I have the opportunity to go to her trainings in Bali!

What is the Gita?
The Bhagavad Gita is one of the most profound spiritual texts ever written, offering timeless wisdom for navigating life’s challenges with grace and purpose. It is one of the fundamental texts that yoga is based upon, and yet it is so often not highlighted or focused on in 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. This program is designed to fill in that gap. It's your chance to immerse yourself in its teachings and uncover how its philosophy can guide you in today’s world. Whether you’re a yoga teacher looking to deepen your knowledge or someone on a path of self-discovery, this course is designed to make the Gita’s teachings accessible, relatable, and deeply transformative. This Bhagavad Gita Studies Course explores the heart of this sacred text through the lens of yoga philosophy and modern life. Together, we’ll explore the Gita’s key themes: the path to self-realization, living in alignment with your dharma, and cultivating a life of devotion, balance, and surrender. With a blend of ancient wisdom and practical tools, this program will empower you to apply the Gita’s teachings in your own life and in your yoga practice.Through engaging lessons, meaningful discussions, and guided practices, you’ll learn to unlock the transformative power of the Bhagavad Gita and integrate its wisdom into your day-to-day life.
Is The Bhagavad Gita Course For You?
The Gita Course is for you if...

  • You feel called to understand yoga beyond the mat and sense that the Gita holds living wisdom for how to act, love, and choose wisely in the world—not just how to practice asana.
  • You’re moving through a transition, healing, or spiritual awakening, and you want ancient guidance to anchor you as you navigate duty, desire, loss, and purpose
  • You crave structure, ritual, and accountability, and you want a spiritual practice that feels relevant to real life—not abstract or performative.
  • You want to understand the inner battlefield of the mind: attachment, aversion, fear, devotion, faith, and how consciousness shapes action and destiny.
  • You want a teacher who bridges scripture and lived experience—who speaks honestly, not just philosophy in theory.
  • You’re longing for community and conversation
  • You don’t want to read the Gita alone—you want to study, reflect, question, and grow alongside others walking the path
  • You’re a yoga teacher or space-holder who wants to weave the Gita into your classes, teachings, and life with confidence, clarity, and integrity—without feeling like an imposter.
  • You want practices that change how you live: meditation, mantra, reflection, and inquiry that help you act with steadiness, devotion, and alignment with your dharma.

Meet Alexandra
Hi, I’m Alexandra. I’m a yoga teacher, author, and long-time student of yoga philosophy, and I’ve spent the last decade studying, living, and studying yoga philosophy. I’m the founder of the Mindful Life Practice / Mindful Bali, where I lead yoga teacher trainings, philosophy immersions, and retreats for students from around the world.

I’ve been alcohol-free since 2019, and my own path has required me to apply the teachings of the Gita in moments of transition, boundaries, and building a values-aligned business. The Gita has been a practical guide for how to act, choose, surrender, and stay steady in real life.

Over the past several years, I’ve taught yoga philosophy to many students globally through Yoga Sutra Study cohorts, advanced teacher trainings, recovery programs, and live retreats.

I’m the author of Sober Yoga Girl and the host of the Sober Yoga Girl Podcast, where I explore how yoga philosophy supports sobriety, mental health, and spiritual growth.

My approach to the Gita is grounded and experiential. I don’t teach it as abstract scripture, but as a living text meant to be reflected on, discussed, meditated with, and practiced. I teach the Gita as a guide for modern life—helping you understand your dharma, work skillfully with the mind, and meet life with devotion, clarity, and integrity.
