Bhagavad Gita Studies

Before joining this program, I had practiced yoga for years, but I never fully understood the deeper layers of the tradition. Alexandra has a gift for making ancient philosophy feel intimate, relevant, and alive. Every week, she weaves the sutras into real-life stories, recovery wisdom, meditation practices, and the challenges we face in modern life. It feels less like a lecture and more like being guided through a journey of self-discovery. What surprised me most is how practical the teachings became. Concepts like vairāgya, abhyāsa, the vṛttis, and the kleshas started showing up in my relationships, my habits, my healing, and even the way I speak to myself. I now understand yoga not just as movement, but as a path of mental clarity, resilience, and liberation. Alexandra holds such a safe, compassionate, and inspiring space. Her ability to link philosophy with sobriety, trauma recovery, and real human vulnerability is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in a yoga course. I felt seen, understood, and deeply supported. If you’re looking for a study experience that is intellectual, emotional, and spiritual all at once — this is it. I’ve never felt more connected to my practice, or to myself. This course didn’t just teach me the Yoga Sutras; it helped me live them. I would recommend it to anyone on a path of healing, growth, or wanting to deepen their yoga journey.

I have only known Alexandra a short while, but in that time I have taken a couple online courses from her. Learning yoga philosophy and implementing meditation from Alexandra has been life changing for me. I can’t wait until I have the opportunity to go to her trainings in Bali!

The Bhagavad Gita begins in a moment of crisis, where confusion, fear, and overwhelm force a deeper question about how to live, and unfolds as a practical guide to understanding the eternal soul, acting without attachment, and finding freedom through purposeful action. It weaves together wisdom, devotion, and disciplined practice, teaching meditation as a way to steady the mind, revealing the divine as both transcendent and intimately present, and showing how daily choices shape consciousness, destiny, and even death. Through powerful imagery and teachings on devotion, faith, and surrender, the Gita helps us recognize the sacred in everyday life, understand the forces that shape our behavior, and distinguish awareness from what it observes. Ultimately, all paths—action, knowledge, and devotion—converge in learning how to live aligned with one’s true nature, offering every thought, choice, and action in service of a deeper truth.
